ABOUT KENYA

This is one of the countries in east Africa with different geographical phenomena ranging from escarpments to low lands, climate and different cultures, this country is Kenya . Ever since the very first African safari, Kenya has been synonymous with the world's greatest creatures. From our coastal shores at sea level, boasting of glorious beaches to the Great Rift Valley scattered with lakes and craters. The Kenya highlands once known as the “white highlands” to the snow capped peak of Mt. Kenya, not forgetting our very own desert in the North Eastern part of Kenya. It is an exciting country of dramatic contrasts. No number of days is entirely alike and you can never predict what new discovery awaits you around the hill. With its 42 tribes, Kenya’s cultural experience takes one through a melting pot of cultures quite unrivalled in any other country. Paradoxically, this kaleidoscope of cultures has forged a nation with its own ideals, ambitions and own goals.

Key Notes on Kenya

The Republic of Kenya is divided by the equator covering a total land area of 582, 644 square kilometers [224,900 square miles] . Within the country there are various landforms from: glacial ice and snow to arid deserts, mountains to rich savannah, large lakes and dense forests. Kenya's appeal lies in its vast combination of wildlife sanctuaries, glorious beaches, breathtaking scenery, agreeable climate and sophisticated accommodation, all wielded together by a happy and hospitable people. Although Kenya is an enormous country, many places of interest to visitors are not more than an acceptable driving distance away and this has led to various “circuits' being developed which avoid too much driving and allows the visitors to see a great deal of the country. These circuits are divided into; The southern circuit, covering Amboseli, and Tsavo area.
The central and northeastern circuit covering the Aberdares, Mt. Kenya, Meru and Samburu. The central and north western circuit, covering the Aberdares, Mt. Kenya, Samburu, Lake Baringo and Bogoria. The Western circuit, covering Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara, Kisumu and Kakamega. MORE ON KENYA
